The first part of a three part poem I wrote over the course of four or so years. This first part was written when I was about twelve years old. It is a bit juvenile, but I enjoy the simplicity and starkness of it.

A black unicorn dies at a man's hands
Boy came over and my heart got stolen
Our children travel to pagan lands
Moon rises full and clear
Last dragon dies and no one cares
My lover has gone far away from here
I scream and no one hears
